EELMAN Records Ltd is a Record & Merchandising Company, based in Wellington, the captial of New Zealand.
Established in 1982, EELMAN RECORDS website is the official archive of the music recordings and video that were developed in the period 1980 -1989 for bands, The Rodents, The Hulamen, Tombolas, The Holidaymakers, The Economic Wizards, The Ranchsliders, The Spines, The Preservatives and Solo Artist Recordings by Andrew Clouston, John Niland, Bill Lake & The Living Daylights, Bill Lake & Rick Bryant.
In addition The Eelman Records website features information on eels, music industry links and and clothing, merchandising links. |
2011
• SHUNTDESIGN.COM & SHUNTDIGITAL.COM in negotiation to become EELMAN RECORD operations.
• Joe Niland, urban legend & eelman mentor honoured Hall Of Fame |
2010
• Three new entries to the Hall Of Fame feature this year. Nick Bollinger, Gerry Moran and Ian Morris.
• eelmannz youtube account updated with video recordings of John Niland, Barnett Lane compositions.
• Release 'Barnett Lane' CD, John Niland featuring 11 songs to dance to.
• Hulamen, Beer & Skittles is unveiled as one of the all time '100 Essential New Zealand Albums', in a new book by Nick Bollinger, published Awa Press.

• Track listings are scheduled to be added to the recording catalogue section.

2009
• Futher work has been undertaken on The Recording Catalogue and this has been reviewed and updated.
• Information on The Ranchsliders has been added to the recording Catalogue. The Ranchsliders produced a cassette tape, a copy of which is in the hands of eelmanrecords and another copy is available at the Turnbull Library fro research.
• Eel Facts has been updated with some interesting new material. This section is popular with students and school kids looking for information on eels.
• Eel Facts will also encompass more information on New Zealand Maori culture.
• A new release is planned of material by John Niland. This work is currently in final stages of development. The mastering has been completed. The art work and text are mid development. A release date has not been given
• A new series of work by ex Hulamen, Tombolas, Holidaymakers featuring the writing talents of John McDougall called goodbastard is in production. |
2007
Eelman Records begins comprehensive intensive research into redeveloping the website from various archives that exist.
• The Recording Catalogue has been reviewed and updated.
• Research also entails looking for Affiliate Products & Services of a high standard that offer interesting Music themed products for the eel-cat section.
• Enquiries for eel facts
never stop and this will be expanded.
• Other services will include relevant New Zealand Music Industry links and services items. |
2005
Mid 2005 the new EELMAN RECORDS Corporate ID was formalised into the website and became the new Official Masthead. |

Eelman Records was formalised into a Limited Company 2004 and began to move into a revitalised period of development.
2004 Andrew Clouston comissioned to produce a new logo to replace the previous Eelman Records ID.

The EELMAN cartoon produced by Andrew Clouston which became the mascot for posters and the eelman vinyl record label identity.
